Alford Academy Student Joins FIS for Apprenticeship Placement
Kerry recently completed her placement with us as part of a Foundation Apprenticeship in Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills)

Aberdeenshire Council secondary school pupils in S5 or S6 now have an opportunity to study for a one-year Foundation Apprenticeship in Scientific Technologies (Laboratory Skills). This qualification is in two parts and is at the level of a Higher (SCQF Level 6).
Pupils spend time at a Learning Provider (classroom based) where delivery and assessment of the relevant National Certificate/National Progression Award takes place. They will also be placed with an employer where they can gain additional skills and put the theory into practice.
Recently, we were delighted to welcome Kerry from Alford Academy to FIS for her employer-based apprenticeship placement — great to have her with us, and we hope she enjoyed her time in our laboratory, learning from our top team.
As a business, we're committed to supporting new talent in our industry, and, while we're not always able to assist, we always welcome interest from those are early in their career or still studying.
