Decarbonising. Faster. Together: FIS at ADIPEC 2023

Two members of the FIS Chemicals team were in attendance at this year's ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE

ADIPEC 2023, Abu Dhabi

Hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference is always one of the most anticipated events of the year for professionals in the global energy sectors — and this year was no exception.

FIS Chemicals' Chief Executive Officer Kenny Woods and International Business Development Director Kevin Mands joined over 184,000 other attendees at the event, which ran between 2nd - 5th October 2023. This attendance figure marked a new record for ADIPEC — their busiest and most attended edition to date, and our attendees certainly kept busy over a packed programme of events, exhibition stands and meetings with energy sector businesses from across the globe.

In a busy and bustling environment, Kenny and Kevin more than covered their 10,000 steps per day across the vast and impressive ADNEC complex.

Days were spent networking with a diverse range of businesses in the marine, renewables and global oil and gas industries — learning from each other, developing ideas, and exploring the potential of working together.

ADIPEC was also a great opportunity to speak to existing partners in the Middle East region and other international FIS customers who had made the journey to Abu Dhabi. The FIS team always appreciate the opportunity to meet up in person with these partners and customers from further afield, and this proved to be the perfect venue for it.

As ever, the innovation on display from energy companies and tech businesses was notable — and the FIS cohort were able to provide insight to other attendees on the kinds of 'smarter chemistry' solutions we can offer businesses of all scales and territories. Notably, the innovative approach from the oil and gas sector and the applicability of this technology to the growing renewables sector was an area of much excitement.

Kenny Woods, FIS Chemicals Chief Executive Officer: “The busiest ADIPEC ever was really something special — and my feet are recovering well from the mileage we walked between exhibition stands, meetings and evening functions! We had many productive meetings and saw a lot of reasons for excitement across the wide range of sectors and technical specialisms — it's clear that oil and gas is alive and well, and making a necessary and proactive contribution to support energy transition. I've come home to Scotland with a huge amount of positive energy, and the outlook is a bright one."

Our thanks go to everyone at ADNEC and the organising team behind ADIPEC for another impressive and inspiring event.
