Marine Mergal K9N Fuel Biocide - (MERK9N)

MERGAL K9N is intended to be added directly to the fuel tank. In cases where a buildup of sludge and bacterial matter has occurred, flushing may be beneficial.

It is very important to get thorough distribution to all areas of the fuel tank.

Adding all the biocide in one dose is not recommended as it may result in uneven distribution. A dosing/metering pump is best if the fuel cannot be circulated around the tank.

Typical dose rates are for Mergal K9N:

• To control growth in fuels (i.e as a regular preventative dose): 0.01-0.05% (100-500ppm) or 0.1 to 0.5Ltrs biocide per 1000Ltrs fuel.

• To treat heavily spoilt fuel and kill existing micro-organisms: 0.10-0.25% (1000- 2500ppm) or 1 to 2.5Ltrs per 1000ltrs fuel.

• Closed Loop Cooling Systems: Between 0.5 and 1.5Ltrs per 1000Lts. For heavily contaminated systems, descale and degrease prior to using Mergal K9N

• Lub Oil: Between 0.3 and 0.5Ltr per 1000Lts to the Lub Oil, please check with manufacturer regarding dosage rates.

Dispose of chemicals in accordance with local environmental legislation, ocal environment registrations.

Normal precautions should be taken for handling chemicals. Protective clothing, eye protection and gloves should be worn. For further, details please refer to the safety data sheet.

Store in a cool, dry location between 5°C and 25°C. Protect from freezing and avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Store the product sealed in the original container to avoid air exposure.

Some products may settle during storage or transportation, ensure thorough mixing before use.
