Dosing

Typical dose rates are for Mergal K9N:

• To control growth in fuels (i.e as a regular preventative dose: 0.01-0.05% (100-500ppm) or 0.1 to 0.5Ltrs biocide per 1000Ltrs fuel.

• To treat heavily spoilt fuel and kill existing infection: 0.10-0.25% (1000-2500ppm) or 1 to 2.5Ltrs per 1000ltrs fuel.

It is very important to get thorough mixing and thorough distribution to all areas of the fuel tank. Adding all the biocide in one lot is not recommended as it may result in uneven distribution. A dosing/metering pump is best if the fuel cannot be circulated around the tank.
