Demulsifier XP (DEMUXP)

Description

Demulsifier XP is a clear, colourless, water-based liquid designed for the separation of oil, water and sand from the sludge found in offshore storage tanks. After the transfer of the sludge into a separation tank the Demulsifier XP is added along with agitation. Continued agititation is followed by a period of quietescence the oil will rise to the surface enabling collection and appropriate disposal. After appropriate analysis, the Demulsifier XP solution should be able to be disposed overboard. The separated sand can also be checked for residual hydrocarbon levels and, if permitted, discharged to the seabed.

Application

The product has successfully be used for cleaning topside offshore vessels and for sandwashing. Suggested dosing rates are given below.

Topside Vessel Cleaning: Typically 1-2% of Demulsifier XP.

Sandwashing: Demulsifier XP can be used to clean up oily sand and water prior to dumping. The oily sand is jetted with 0.1 – 1% Demulsifier XP in water. The separated oil is pumped back into the process whilst the sand and water are disposed of in a suitable manner.

Dispose of chemicals in accordance with local environmental legislation.

Handling
